Summer Party at the Henry Art Gallery: July 18

Summer is in full swing and there is another heat wave rolling in, so come celebrate the warm weather (or bask in the air conditioning) at the Henry Art Gallery on July 18 from 8 to 10 PM. The event features a bevy of fun and exciting activities and events, and is a great opportunity to check out the Henry’s latest exhibitions, including the video installation by Michelle Handelman in the the upper galleries, “Irma Vep: The Last Breath.”

Visitors can look forward to a perfume workshop led by Saskia Wilson-Brown of the Los Angeles-based Institute for Art and Olfaction, as well as a performance by Seattle-based soul-hip-hop-electronica masterminds Fly Moon RoyaltyAn ArtBreak, led by a local artist, will also be on the agenda, providing visitors with a deeper understanding and experience of the current exhibitions at the Henry Art Gallery. Kick off your weekend with this energetic and artistic crowd.

Henry Members are invited to a special happy hour from 7 to 8 pm.

Claire Reiner is a writer, artist and recent graduate from the University of Washington’s School of Art with a major in Art History. She is interested in recent art movements and subcultures (1950s, 60s, 70s) and how they have shaped present perceptions and practices of art. She grew up in Southern California and moved to Seattle in 2010. She is quite influenced by the unique geography of both places and enjoys hiking and exploring the Pacific Northwest. Reiner covers visual art exhibits in Seattle and seeks to contribute to a profound and positive artistic community, as well as encourage people to come out and experience art moments for themselves. Reiner is also the Executive Assistant for VanguardSeattle and handles any press related needs.
